Thank you, Congressman Wolf

Brad Phillips Congressman Frank Wolf

The first time I met Frank Wolf was in Northern Virginia at a campaign fundraiser featuring the famous Roy Rogers. I was just twelve at the time, which was quite a while back! Now, after 34 years of service to his country, Congressman Wolf has retired from politics.

Frank Wolf didn't just represent the people of the 10th Congressional District in Virginia. He also represented millions of oppressed and persecuted people all over the world.

My own experience with him has been in the context of the two Sudans. Whenever I needed an ear in Washington to listen to the stories and testimonies that I would bring back from the wars in Sudan, Congressman Wolf was there.

I remember in August, 2011, at a special hearing where I testified on the humanitarian crisis in the Nuba Mountains, Congressman Wolf boldly called out representatives of the Sudan government present in the audience. "This regime is evil. EVIL! EVIL!"

Congressman Wolf was one of the few voices on Capitol Hill fighting to keep the Sudan crisis in the spotlight. Now that he's leaving the spotlight himself, we need to say thanks.

On behalf of PPF, our ministry partners, and the millions of Sudanese we have served through the years, we thank Congressman Frank Wolf for his dedicated service to the persecuted and wish him a pleasant, restful retirement from public life.
