More Cash for Killers

These funds are designed to take pressure off a free-falling Sudanese pound, currently trading at 8.65 to 1 on the black market, even though the official bank rate is 5.7 to 1.

Sudan dictator Omar al Bashir has destroyed his country's economy. His brutal war in South Sudan led to the secession of the latter and the corresponding loss of $billions in oil revenues. And Bashir's present violent campaigns in Darfur, Abyei, Southern Kordofan and the Blue Nile State have contributed towards a ballooning national debt and increased suffering for those Sudanese under fire and those simply trying to make a living.

It is unfortunate that Qatar continues to provide cash for killers like Bashir. With ready money and an international community that refuses to support a regime change, Bashir is free to keep killing and to make life more miserable for his people.

Let us continue to hold up the oppressed peoples of Sudan in our prayers and engage in Active Compassion to show the love of Christ to a fallen world.
